The men were designated as Number 5 Work Party , Number 1 Company , Number 1 Work Battalion . comprising of 600 men under the
 command of LT/Col Pargeter RCOS
 They were tasked to build a Railway Goods Depot (Marshling Yard). Chief Medical Officer was Major Reed

On the 21 November,  all RAOC were moved to a new area , about 100 yds away and renamed Number 4 Company , Number 6 Work Batallion.
On the 31 December 1943 , All Thai Stalls were closed by the Japanese due to reports of Japanese clashes with Thais , all the Kamppongs in the area were
destroyed and the Thais moved out of the area.
